Good vs. Evil

Lijiah and Jake have picked their Halloween costumes. Lijiah was being red Spiderman and Jake is being black Spiderman (Venom). We got the costumes home and tried them on. Then the battle ensued. There was all variety of jumping, running, and punching. In the end the "good" big brother let the "evil" little brother win.

I made Lijiah take off his costume so we could trade it for a bigger size. When we got back to the store however he decided he wanted to be Ironman. So I'm glad I got the pics when I did.

Jake's Birthday

Jake turned 3 yesterday (Oct 17th). It makes me feel awful old for my baby to be not a baby anymore. He had a good party. We had two sets of grandparents, several aunts and uncles, some cousins, and a couple friends. It was a good time. Jake helped make and decorate his own cake. Which he thought was pretty cool.

When it came to cake and ice cream time Jake was hiding in the corner during the singing. Then he was just wandering and crying and not sure what to do. I took him to his room and tried to calm him down. I asked him "Is there just a lot of noise and confusion? Are you a little bit overwhelmed?" I'm not entirely sure if he new what I was asking (overwhelmed might be a big word for a 3 year old) but Jake threw his head back and wailed "Yes! They're all looking at me!!!" The poor little guy. He was just embarrassed to have everyone concentrating on him. Everyone was in his face, wishing happy birthday and such and he just couldn't take it anymore. So Jake, Jordan, and I stayed in the bedroom for a couple minutes to let Jake kind of reset. Then he was off to eat some cake and ice cream and play with all his new toys.

He was so funny with his new toys. He wanted so badly to play with all of them at the same time. So instead he played with each toy for about 2 minutes. Then move on to the next. He'd just go from one to the other. I think this morning his favorites have ended up being the Gator Golf (thanks Gma and Gpa Hall), the Ironman car (thanks Dad-Brad), and the Croc Crusher race track (thanks Gma and Gpa Buys). He has also had to go to bed with all his new cars for the last two nights (thanks everyone who brought cars). Last night the firetruck was very popular (thanks Jar and Jamie) and the footballs. I can't wait until the present from Jason and Monika gets here. It's a Dolphins football uniform complete with helmet. All except for the Dolphins part I think it's gonna be awesome. But why couldn't it have been the Broncos!?!?!?!?

Anyway it was a good party. The boys stayed up until about 11 playing with all the new fabulous stuff...and since I was only up until about midnight it actually felt like I got to sleep in when then didn't come jumping on me until 9:30.

Happy Birthday Jakie!!!!!!
